Where are we planting?

To help us achieve both the 10,000+ target of trees and hedging we will be looking at planting in three general areas.

  1. Council-owned lands.
  2. Residential estates.
  3. Private homes, again by getting home-owners inspired to take part.

In all cases a lot of effort is put in to discuss with all actors that the most appropriate type of tree or hedging is planted, the right tree for the right location with further thought also put into the management of the trees over their lifespan.

Planting took place in 16 different locations: 12 residential estates (Millteog, Pinebrook, Gallops, Cluain Ri, St Patrick`s Park, DeLacy Crescent, Friarspark, Manorlands, Butterstream Manor, De Lacey Court, Eldergrove, Talbot Court, Trim GAA, Prosper Meath as well as the Athboy Ring Road and Summerhill Road.

How will it be funded?

There is a cost to buying and planting trees. We have been very thankful to our funding partners the Community Foundation of Ireland, Meath County Council and Brita.
